  i understand that the number of people who join the wt is roughly equal to the number of people who leave.

  there's a small difference, overall, but in some countries the number of those leaving might even be slightly above the number of those joining.

  and this has been a problem for ever.. i would like some insight into the minds of those who stay in, not because of family reasons, not because of fear, old age, parental control, but because they really believe the scam.

  yea what blondie said, and also if you think "why dont they go to another religion that teaches heaven" etc - they have been brainwashed to believe these are all wrong too, so for them it's the only way they can live forever.

  dr. margaret barkers new book, the great angel: a study of israels second god, argues conclusively that yahweh, the god of israel, was not the father of jesus, but jesus christ himself.

  furthermore, the belief that jehovah was gods (elyons) first son a tradition that went far back into israelite history.

  it not only was known to the ancient prophets, but to the early christians and even the gnostics.

  Problems with Soccer (Football) from an American Standpoint

  so as not to hijack another thread, just a few comments on why we (americans) find that soccer is generally a boring game to watch.. 1. lack of scoring: american football adjusts the rules periodically so that each team averages around 3 touchdowns per game.

  basketball added the three-point line to encourage more scoring.

  even traditional baseball has tweaked the rules to encourage more scoring.

  you don't really "get" football. It's a much older game than your american football so most people don't want loads of technology introduced like very accurate clocks, video replays, coaches with huge motorola headsets etc. The fact that decisions are made my an error-prone human makes the game on the whole more interesting as you get controversies etc. Making it all robotic would just rob the game of the 'romance'.

  offside is essential, again if you understood the game you would see why it's needed.

  it's not all about scoring loads, I have seen 7-0 games that are boring (its not that interesting ot see a ball go in a net) and some 0-0 amazing games. the joy of football is watching the off the ball movements, team play, last ditch defending, great saves, great shots etc. The fact goals are so hard to get makes them mean so much more when someone scores.

  to simplify it all to points is pretty shallow imho, it's like you are only looking at 10% of the game?

  and look at basketball? really high scores, very frequent scoring, and most of the world is bored to tears by it.

  apparently people ( like me) from the home counties of england don't have an accent, its just english...?.

  for the record i would say my accent is rather like kira knightly.

  I disagree with the statement that 'everyone has an accent'. There are some folks that do not really have 'accents'. Listen to the evening news folks. Very rarely do they have accents that are discernable.

  Thats ridiculous, if i listen to a USA newsreader they have an american accent to me, if you listened to a UK newsreader they would sound like they had an english accent.

  I know you love these deep meanings :) But don't get lost in scriptures, and then lose Christ and His message along the way.

  = don't worry that the bible makes no sense and is full of contradictions and obvious amends, just ignore that and have blind faith anyway in something based on the same book.

  i'm sure topics like this have already come up but they tend to get hilarious with the absolute absurdity that goes on in the kh.

  i was once counseled for not shaving after two days.

  i was also counseled by a sister for eating lucky charms cereal.

  having a 2 seater sports car

  not wearing a jacket at the book study (the house had the central heating on all day, even in summer and with 15 people in there was roasting)

  wearing an orange tie

  correcting an MS (IQ < 100) who couldn't read a rota on whose turn it was to do the microphones

  not doing enough hours in FS because I refused to spent 5 hours a month wasting time by walking instead of driving to places etc.
